User Content Terms

Version 1.0.0 · Effective 2026-08-29 · Last updated 2026-08-29

1. What your content is

“Your content” means what you create on the platform: Skill Tree User Work (your own study notes and write-ups), community write-ups, trading strategies and drafts, research notes, and chart annotations. These terms apply to all of it; sections 3–9 speak specifically about Skill Tree User Work and community content, and section 13 notes where strategies differ.

2. Ownership

Your content belongs to you. Creating it, storing it here, editing it, or making it public never transfers ownership to the platform. Nothing in these terms gives us ownership of anything you create.

3. Private content

Your content starts private: other users cannot see it. Private means private from other users — the platform still stores and processes it to provide the service (rendering it to you, keeping revision history, backing it up), as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Public content

You may deliberately make eligible content public. Public means one thing: other signed-in users of the platform can view it, attributed to your display name. Public does not mean:

  • platform-approved or platform-certified;
  • official curriculum, or any part of platform research;
  • independently reviewed;
  • available to or used by our learning agents;
  • adopted by the platform;
  • owned by anyone but you.

Public user content is always labeled as user content, distinct from official platform content.

5. The permission we need to show it

So that we can operate the service, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, technically reproduce, transmit, format, and display your content — privately to you always, and to other signed-in users while you keep it public — and to keep it in routine backups. That is the entire permission. It does not include:

  • making your content official curriculum;
  • training AI models or agents on it;
  • creating commercial derivatives of it;
  • selling it or transferring ownership of it;
  • any use unrelated to operating the service.

This permission ends prospectively when you make the content private, archive it, or it is removed — except that copies may persist in routine backups for their ordinary rotation, and we may retain records where required for legal obligations or dispute evidence.

6. Your responsibilities

Only make content public if you have the right to share it. Do not post:

  • copyrighted material you lack permission to share, including paid course content;
  • other people’s confidential or proprietary information;
  • other people’s personal information;
  • content that infringes trademarks or other rights;
  • unlawful content.

You are responsible for what you choose to publish.

7. Making public content private again

You can return public content to private at any time. It stops being served to other users immediately. Copies may persist for a limited time in routine backups and operational records, and other users may have seen or noted it while it was public — making something private again cannot undo past visibility.

8. Archiving

Archived content leaves the public surface and becomes read-only history in your own workspace. The platform’s content lifecycle is deliberately append-oriented: archiving preserves your work and its revision history rather than destroying it, and it is not the same as deletion.

9. Platform removal rights

OPENMINDED may restrict, hide, disable the public display of, archive, or otherwise limit access to user content when reasonably necessary to enforce platform rules, investigate abuse, protect users or platform operations, respond to legal or intellectual-property complaints, or preserve security. Doing so never transfers ownership, never creates platform certification, and never creates adoption or agent rights. No moderation approval is required before you make your content public. A formal review/reporting workflow is not yet built; complaints are handled manually via section 12.

10. No certification, no agent use

User content never carries platform assurance. Official curriculum passes a separate governed process; nothing you publish becomes part of it by being public. Our learning agents consume only governed official content and do not read, quote, or train on user content.

11. Platform adoption is separate and starts with us

You cannot submit or promote your content into official platform curriculum, and making it public gives us no right to adopt it. If the platform ever wants to adopt a specific piece of your work, the process is: we identify the specific work and version, we contact you, you freely decide whether to consider it, and any adoption happens only under a separate written agreement covering ownership, licensing, and compensation. Until such an agreement exists, nothing changes about your content.

12. Copyright and rights-holder complaints

If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, contact openmindedlab@gmail.com with: identification of the work you hold rights in, the location (link) of the disputed content, your contact information, and a statement of your good-faith belief. We may restrict access to disputed content during review, will preserve relevant records, and may put you in contact with the content’s author where appropriate. Whether to adopt a formal DMCA designated-agent process is an open owner decision; until then this section is the complaint procedure.

13. Strategies

Trading strategies you author are also yours. They differ from other content in one respect: the platform’s execution systems evaluate them in simulation and may display their simulated performance alongside them (including on public profile surfaces when you publish a strategy). Evaluation is measurement, not endorsement — a grade or simulated result is never platform advice.

14. Changes

Each version of these terms carries a version number and effective date; we will give notice of material changes before they take effect.
